Reading Materials for Diving
Course fee: US$487.14

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where your adventure begins.

This course on average takes three days and includes a text book. There are five chapters to be read with a small knowledge review at the end of each chapter. This is all independent study, but there will be a review session with the instructor once the chapters are complete.

An equipment check is done before heading to the pool, to get comfortable in the equipment and breathing underwater. Then it’s time to learn some of the skills you will need as a certified diver.

There are five confined water sessions; these can be grouped dependent on schedule, either in one block or into two sessions.

The open water portion of the course consists of four open water dives. The first two are shallow water dives; this is where some of the skills are practiced and where you become comfortable.

The third and fourth dives are in deeper water; these dives are designed for you to become more accustomed to slightly deeper water. With these four dives complete, there is a final exam of sixty multiple choice questions, very similar to the knowledge reviews in the text book. Once this is complete you are a certified diver!
